How to amend a single session
What’s the difference between sessions with multiple dates and sessions that happen regularly on the same day every week or month?
When posting jobs, you can choose between a recurring job (with a start and end date) or a job with multiple dates (individual dates you add manually).
In the system, both recurring jobs and jobs with multiple dates are managed under the same “recurring jobs” section, so you’ll always find them in the same place.
When you set a job to repeat weekly, the system automatically creates a job for each of those weeks (e.g. 18 Sept, 25 Sept, 2 Oct, etc.).
Here’s an example:
| Job with Multiple Different Dates | Recurring Job (Same Day Each Week) | |
|---|---|---|
| Job title | AM Locum Sessions, Multiple Dates, Riverbank Practice, Dundee | AM Locum Sessions – Fridays – November, Edinburgh, Meadows Health Centre |
| Category | AM Sessions | AM Sessions |
| Type of scheduling | Manual entry of each individual date | Automatically repeats on the same weekday |
| Dates |
|
Every Friday from 1 Nov to 29 Nov 2025 |
| Start & end time | 9:00 – 13:00 for each date | 9:00 – 13:00 |
| Description | Friendly GP surgery. EMIS. No visits. | Regular Friday cover. Paperless. 15-min appointments. |
| Fee | £300 per session | £320 per session |
| How to set it up | Use Schedule Multiple Jobs and enter each date manually | Use Schedule Multiple Jobs and select the frequency (i.e. daily, weekly etc.) option. Enter how often this job recurs (e.g. 3 or 10 times etc.). Then enter the end date. |
How to post multiple sessions with the same title & description in one job post
As soon as a job is filled, please remove it from the website. This helps avoid unnecessary enquiries and saves time for both you and the locums.

How to remove a single date from a weekly/monthly recurring job
If you’ve created a job post that repeats weekly (or every two weeks etc.), and one of the dates is no longer available, you can remove that specific date without deleting the entire job post.
When you set a job to repeat weekly, the system automatically creates a job for each of those weeks (e.g. 18 Sept, 25 Sept, 2 Oct, etc.).
Here’s how:
- Go to your jobs list and select the job that repeats weekly (e.g. every Thursday from 18 September to 31 October). Open your recurring job post.
- If one of the dates (e.g. 25 September) is taken, you don’t need to delete the job post. Instead, you mark that date as an exception.
- Under Recurring Job, click on the black Add Exception button.
- Add the specific date you want to remove (e.g. 25 September).
- This tells the system not to display the job on that date.
- Repeat if needed
- Save your changes. Scroll down and click Submit or Update Event to apply your changes.
This removes just the dates that are no longer available, without affecting the rest of the recurring job.
