Whinpark Medical Practice offer and an exciting opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking maternity Locum GP for 4 sessions per week from July 2026 to March 2027 to join our friendly and supportive practice team. The practice is situated in Southwest Edinburgh with a list size of 12,100 culturally diverse patients.

 

You will join our fabulous team which consists of 6 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 2 GP Registrars, Physician’s Associate, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 Healthcare Assistants, Pharmacy team, Advanced Paramedics, supported by the Practice Business Manager and her excellent admin/reception team.

 

We are a training practice for GPST1 and 3, undergraduate teaching of 4th and 6th year students from Edinburgh University and FY2 Doctors on rotation. There are always opportunities to be involved in teaching and training, and personal development is greatly encouraged.

 

We enjoy a positive work/life balance with a variety of interests. Daily coffee and social events are a must.

 

We have various commuting options to the Practice: car/bike/bus/tram nearby. We have a secure bike store and shower facilities for our team.
